Fri Morning at SOME

Hey, I'm having trouble uploading some of our pictures. I apologize for not having a better representation of our students - especially the girls here. When, I get the others up, I'll post those too.

After a late night, and a very early rise at CSM (4:00am) we headed off to S.O.M.E. (So Others Might Eat). This is a fantastic organization that serves 800 meals a day to the poor and homeless of DC. They also have job training programs, resume and child care workshops, low income housing opportunities, medical and psychiatric clinics and a clothes closet. We worked the breakfast shift. Billy and Pascal in the kitchen, Kyle and Aaron taking plates, Jonah and Naz serving coffee, Patience and Natalie putting out napkins, forks and cups, Julie serving the women's dining room juice, Nicole playing the piano, Jon helping with sweeping and Rachel back in the kitchen chopping all kinds of things. All of us between shifts, cleaned tables and floors, moving chairs, etc.

The best part of this experience is getting to see the people being served. Smiling at them and showing them decent human respect brings such a change in thier posture, stance and face! What a way to be the hands and feet of Jesus!

Well, encough for now....perhaps more to come.....Thanks for your prayers!
